Report: 2 Kennedys arrested near Cape Cod compound

Two members of the Kennedy family were reportedly arrested Sunday over an alleged noise violation.

Matthew “Max” Kennedy, the 52-year-old son of Robert F. Kennedy, was detained for a noise violation and disorderly conduct on early Sunday morning, the Boston Herald reported. His 22-year-old daughter Caroline was also arrested at a home close to the famed Kennedy’s compound on Cape Cod.

Police officers responded to a loud party early Sunday morning, Lt. John Murphy of the Barnstable Police Department said.

“It’s if noise is audible for a distance of 150 feet away,” he said, according to the Boston Herald, noting that the person is punishable by a $100 fine and arrest. “It’s a loud party statute, that’s what it’s used for.”

There were no other arrests. They were both released on bail.

Max Kennedy was arraigned Monday and has a pending court date for November, according to the Daily News.

Tara Miltimore, an assistant district attorney for Massachusetts’s Cape and Islands district, told the Daily News that the daughter’s arraignment had been continued until November, but didn’t offer the explanation for the delay.
